Infovox iVox allows voices to be installed either locally from a file on your computer or downloaded from the internet. This offers flexibility for individuals and organizations who may or may not have access to a broadband internet connection.
Installing an Infovox iVox voice from a file on your computer
- After installing Infovox iVox, navigate to your Applications folder and open the Infovox iVox Voice Manager.
- Locate the voice you would like to install, and then from the Action popup menu, select Install...
- In the dialog box that appears, navigate to the installation file on your computer or on a DVD and select the file to install it.
Installing an Infovox iVox voice downloaded from the internet
- After installing Infovox iVox, navigate to your Applications folder and open the Infovox iVox Voice Manager.
- Locate the voice you would like to trial, and then from the Action popup menu, select Download and Install...
The Activity Manager will appear showing the progress of your download. Note that you can download multiple voices simultaneously. When the progress bar indicates that the voice is downloaded, installation is complete.
