+ - Why do I need an account to activate my license?

With Infovox iVox 3 & Infovox iVox 4, you must create an AssistiveWare activation server account. This is a feature of that offers users greater flexibility in activating their voices.

Infovox iVox licenses are no longer tied to a computer. With an AssistiveWare activation server account, licenses are tied to a person or organization, which enables you to use the account on different computers. In the Infovox iVox Voice Manager, you can create an activation server account when you redeem an activation code.

Alternately, you can create an activation server account by first clicking the Manage Accounts button, then clicking the Add Account... button, and finally under the Create New Account tab, entering your name, organization (if any) and email address and selecting one of the three account options below. Click the OK button to submit your information. The name and organization will be the licensee of the voices. An email will be sent to the email address provided with the account details.

In addition to this benefit, all Infovox iVox users running Intel Macs should upgrade to the latest version of Infovox iVox for their system as it offers several new voices for existing languages, improved pronunciation, enhanced compatibility, and greater flexibility for managing activations and purchasing voices.

Depending on your circumstances, there are two slightly different procedures to follow when upgrading from Infovox iVox 2 to Infovox iVox 3 or Infovox iVox 4.

+ - Why did the sound quality of my voices diminish after updating to Infovox iVox 4?

If you recently updated to Infovox iVox 4 and noticed the sound quality of your voices has diminished, please be sure you update your voices when prompted otherwise the old version of your voices will have problems.

To update your voices, open the Infovox iVox Voice Manager and update your voices when prompted. You can also update your voices in the Infovox iVox Voice Manager by going to the top menu and selecting Infovox iVox Voice Manager > Check for Updates.... You should receive a dialog box alerting you that updates to your voices are available. Click the button for Install Update.

Note that you may also receive a message that you are running the latest version of Infovox iVox and no updates are available. Simply dismiss this message and your voice update should download.

+ - Why did the amount of credits in my account change on 1/28/14?

If you had voice credits in your AssistiveWare Activation Server Account and noticed on 1/28/14 your amount of credits changed, please be aware we released Infovox iVox 4 on this date. With the introduction of this version, we have simplified the pricing mechanism for Infovox iVox Voices. From now on, all voices can be activated for one voice credit each per computer, and the minimum number of two computers no longer applies. The price of a voice credit is now to $14.99/ Euro 14,99.

We have converted the credits in accounts by dividing them by 2, where we rounded an odd number of credits upward. This allows you to activate the same number of voices with the new credits balance as you could with you old balance. As a result, no value was lost in this conversion.
